Clark Engineering has been appointed as the official UK distributor for PALMS forestry trailers, bringing an established European range of tractor forestry trailers and timber forwarding equipment to customers across the UK.
The partnership strengthens Clark’s forestry equipment offering and allows us to supply complete forestry trailer and crane setups, with the trailer, crane, grapple and supporting components selected around each customer’s tractor, workload and operating conditions.
The first PALMS forestry trailer and crane setup supplied by Clark has now been completed at our Dumfries site.
PALMS forestry trailers now available in the UK
Founded in Estonia in 1992, PALMS is a family-owned business and one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of forestry trailers and cranes.
The company has built its reputation through continued product development and quality improvement, with forestry equipment designed around practical operation, durable construction and long-term reliability.
The PALMS forestry trailer range includes single-beam, double-beam, unibody and driven models. This provides options for different tractor sizes, load requirements, ground conditions and forestry applications, from smaller-scale woodland work to professional timber forwarding.
Clark can supply PALMS forestry trailers ranging from 8,500 kg to 19,000 kg gross weight. Different frame types, bolster arrangements, loading areas and drive options are available, allowing each trailer to be configured around how and where it will be used.
Selected PALMS Z cranes are also available through Clark Engineering.
Complete forestry trailer and crane setups from Clark
Adding PALMS forestry trailers to the Clark range means customers can source a complete trailer, crane and grapple setup through one experienced forestry equipment supplier.
Our team can help specify the setup around the customer’s tractor, the timber being handled, the required crane reach and the terrain in which the equipment will operate.
PALMS forestry trailers can be paired with Cranab FC5, EC8 and EC10 cranes, with maximum reaches of up to 10 metres depending on the crane model and configuration selected.
Cranab grapples can also be supplied alongside Indexator rotators, Tamtron weighing systems and Parker hydraulic and control equipment. This allows the main elements of the forestry trailer setup to be considered together rather than selected as separate components.

First PALMS 12U forestry trailer setup completed in Dumfries
The first PALMS build completed by Clark combines a PALMS 12U forestry trailer with a Cranab EC8 crane offering a 9.4-metre reach.
The setup also includes a Cranab CR26 grapple, Indexator GV6 rotator, Tamtron One weighing system and Parker control equipment.
Bringing the trailer, crane, grapple, rotator, weighing system and controls together allows the complete forestry setup to be considered as one system. Each component can be selected around the tractor, timber handling requirements and conditions in which the equipment will operate.
The completed PALMS 12U build provides a clear example of the forestry trailer and crane packages now available through Clark Engineering.
Forestry trailers built for demanding work
PALMS forestry trailers are designed for a wide range of timber extraction, forwarding and handling applications.
The available configurations include lighter single-beam trailers, strong double-beam designs, high-clearance unibody trailers and driven options for more difficult terrain.
Features vary by model but can include Strenx performance steel, tested drawbars, flexible bolster positioning and KTL dip coating followed by powder coating. This coating process helps protect both visible and concealed surfaces against corrosion, supporting long-term durability.
Different drive, frame and loading-area options also allow the trailer to be adapted to the customer’s workload and ground conditions rather than relying on one standard specification for every operation.
